The evaluation of the PISA (the program for the international evaluation of the students) is coordinated by the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OCDE) and takes place every three years. The purpose is to evaluate how well the students are prepared to cope with the challenges of life, not only to reproduce knowledge learned in the classroom. Romania is constantly participating in this test, and its results are analyzed internationally.

“Between April 28 – June 29, 2025, the Evaluation of PISA will be carried out. We have the classic evaluation of the competences in reading, mathematics and sciences. The sciences represent in this evaluation the main field and we also have the evaluation of the digital skills”, the minister said.
He mentioned that, for the first time, PISA testing will also be evaluated with English language skills. A few questionnaires for teachers will be introduced to get a series of information about the educational system, David added.
“For the first time, in the evaluation in the country within the PISA test will be evaluated and the skills of the students at English language. Also, there will be some additional questionnaires through which we try, based on the PISA methodology, (…) to know a series of information about our education system, namely – the questionnaire of the science teacher, the questionnaire of the English teacher and the parents questionnaire ”, the minister explained.
Pisa 2025. What does the questionnaire for parents and teachers contain
The questions addressed to them aim to involve them in the education of the child, the emotional support they offer, the expectations they have on the educational evolution of the child. Parents will also be questioned regarding their involvement in school activities.
The questionnaire for science teachers and English collects information on socio-demographic data, qualifications, professional development, work experience, instructional practices and satisfaction with the workplace, additional to the specific questions of the basic and innovative areas.
