The PNL representatives and the trade unions discussed on Thursday the draft law on unitary wages in the budgetary sector, a reform included in the PNRR. Ilie Bolojan conveyed on this occasion that the liberals will support in the Parliament the version agreed with the European Commission.
The leadership of the National Liberal Party met on Thursday, at the headquarters of the party, with the representatives of the main trade union confederations in Romania, for a dialogue on the draft law on unitary wages in the budget system, a reform assumed by Romania through the National Recovery and Resilience Plan, PNL representatives sent in a press release.
During the meeting, the representatives of the trade union confederations presented their observations and proposals regarding the draft Law on Unitary Wages, expressing the existing interests and concerns among public sector employees.
“PNL President Ilie Bolojan showed that the salary reform is a commitment assumed by Romania through PNRR and an important condition for accessing the European funds related to this milestone. At the same time, he emphasized that the objective of the reform is to build a fairer, more predictable and sustainable salary system from a budgetary point of view, by gradually correcting the existing inequities. As President of PNL, Ilie Bolojan informed that the liberal parliamentarians will vote in the Parliament the draft law in the version agreed by Romania with the European Commission”the release states.
Also during this meeting, Dragoș Pîslaru presented the changes made to the project following the institutional dialogue, explained the negotiations with the European Commission and the related budgetary constraints and reiterated the commitments that were the basis for the elaboration of the project.
“The National Liberal Party appreciates the dialogue with the social partners and believes that important reforms must be discussed responsibly, so that the adopted decisions respond as best as possible to the general interest of Romania”the liberals also sent.
The president of the PNL party, Ilie Bolojan, along with Dragoș Pîslaru, Robert Sighiartău, Gabriela Horga and Raluca Turcan participated in the discussions, while the unions were represented, among others, by Bogdan Hosu (president of CNS Cartel Alfa), Iulian Pope (from SANITAS and CNSLR Frația), George Purcaru (from FSLI and CSDR), Costel Ichim (from Agro Propact and CSN Meridian).
According to the project published by the Ministry of Labour, the new Law on unitary wages would enter into force on January 1, 2027. The document establishes a ratio of 1 to 8 between the lowest and the highest basic salary in the budgetary sector and provides a reference value of 4,100 lei for the year 2027.
