President Nicușor Dan: “I note the irresponsibility of some Romanian political leaders and opinion leaders who try to excuse Russia for this incident”

“I want to point out the irresponsibility of some Romanian political leaders and opinion leaders who try to excuse Russia from this incident. And now, Romanian citizens can see who is pro-Western and who imitates pro-Westernism”said Nicusor Dan.

He emphasized that in Galaţi it was a drone “left from Russia”, I know its route from Russia, the route through Ukraine and the point through which it entered Romania.

Nicușor Dan explains that the drone was part of a group of 43 drones launched by Russia, but only one reached Romanian territory.

After the Russian drone hit a block in the city of Galati and exploded, an incident that resulted in the injury of two people, the head of state convened the Supreme Council of National Defense (CSAT).

“We have convened a meeting of the Supreme Council of Defense of the Country today at 11 o’clock to discuss the implications of the most serious incident that affected the national territory since the beginning of the Russian Federation’s war of aggression against Ukraine. We will order the proportional measures in relation to the Russian Federation”, Nicușor Dan had announced.

Following the meeting, he announced the expulsion of the consul general of the Russian Federation in Constanta and the closing of the consulate.
