The union members will protest during the activities carried out at the workplace, carrying a distinctive sign (banner, badge, etc.), in a sign of disagreement with the measures announced in the public space and assigned to the Cotroceni working group, meant to reduce the budget deficit through cutting in the education system.

The unions point out that these measures could seriously affect the working conditions and the standard of living of the education in education, with a negative impact on the quality of the educational act.

Among the challenged provisions are: the increase of the teaching norm, the descent of the salary threshold according to which the holiday vouchers and the food allowance, the elimination of the allowance for the scientific title of the doctor are granted, the reduction of the staff from the national research and development institutes and the institutions of the Romanian Academy.

In addition, the unions are deeply dissatisfied with the proposals that have appeared in the public space regarding the modification of the status of holder in education and that they would carry out their activity for 8 hours a day in the educational units.

The trade union leaders recall that, two years after the general strike in education, many of the promises of the governors have remained unforgettable, and the unmotivating pay continues to keep young people away from the teaching career.

“The three trade union federations point out that, if the protest on Wednesday will be treated with indifference, and the future government will put into practice the proposals for measures that will affect the educational employees, are determined to trigger extensive protest actions!“, They warned the Federation of Free Trade Unions, the Federation of Education Unions” Spiru Haret “and the” Alma Mater “National Federation.
