I am a man with great respect for the Church. A man who raises his children in the fear and love of God. I am a married woman and a mother. I will never accept someone telling me when and what to put on my head to show it. It is already too much what a high church figure in this country does and says. Too much. Faith is being genuine and sincere in our relationship with God, and what really matters is our actions and how we treat those around us”, PSD deputy Laura Vicol, president of the Legal, Discipline and Immunities Commission of the Chamber of Deputies, wrote on Facebook.

The PSD deputy’s reaction comes after, on Wednesday, the archbishop of Tomis, His Holiness Teodosie, answered a question on Radio Dobrogea, stating that a married woman should not walk with her head uncovered.

Of course you have to wear something on your head. A married woman should not walk with her head uncovered. How can he be ashamed? Even if he puts on a hat, a beret, but his head is not uncovered. If someone has so many whims, cover your head with something”, declared the Archbishop of Tomis, when asked by a married woman, how to proceed if she wants to wear a scarf on her head at an event, and the family is ashamed of her if she does so.
