The Social Democrats accused USR members of hypocrisy, claiming that as long as “USR will continue to make a shield around the criminals in the party”, the formation “does not have the right” to make any more accusations. The clarifications come in the context of the submission of notifications to the DNA and ANI regarding the activity of the PSD-PNL candidate at the Capital city hall.

“PSD denounces the double standard and the shameless hypocrisy of USR representatives who make complaints to ANI and DNA against the doctor Cătălin Cîrstoiu, while sitting at the table with the penalties and the incompatibles from their own party. Unlike the USR penalties, the doctor Cătălin Cîrstoiu is not subject to any criminal investigation and has no decision of incompatibility”the social democrats sent in a press release.
PSD representatives also claimed that <<USR definitively lost its status as a landmark of integrity in Romanian politics after it made a shield around its own penalties and publicly attacked the magistrates and integrity inspectors who took decisions against them”. but also that “USR is today the “party alongside criminals in public positions”, which unscrupulously betrayed its own voters>>.
According to the social democrats, the one who submitted the notifications to DNA and ANI, the parliamentarian Emmanuel Ungureanu, claims “in the June 9 elections, more USR penalties in public positions”. The party invoked Clotilde Armand again, along with Lucian Viziteu and Allen Coliban, Vlad Voiculescu.
“As long as the USR will continue to make a shield around the criminals in the party, it does not have the moral right to make accusations of integrity or of a criminal nature against other people or other parties”concluded the formation.
Contre between Grindeanu and Clotilde Armand
The Minister of Transport, Sorin Grindeanu, previously claimed that the USR mayor of sector 1, Clotilde Armand, was sent to court in the case in which ANI accused her of incompatibility. The clarifications were followed by the reaction of the mayor from Sector 1, who stated, according to Libertatea, that the minister “Grindeanu is lying”.
“I know only one candidate for a mayor's office, by sector, it's true, who is being sued for incompatibility. I know, it hurts, it's at USR, it stings, but there's only one candidate sent”claimed Sorin Grindeanu in a press conference, also referring to the address of the former Minister of Health Vlad Voiculescu.
“Grindeanu lies! (…) I am not being sued. Moreover, Prime Minister Marcel Ciolacu made similar statements, three times, in the public space on the same subject. They pre-announced during the investigation what is very serious”claimed Clotilde Armand in turn, according to the quoted source.
