Richard Gere and Alejandra Silva marked US Independence Day with a family outing in New York. The photos published by the actor’s wife capture the two together with their children, in a rare appearance that has sparked reactions online.
Known for the discretion with which he protects his personal life, Richard Gere made an exception this time. The actor’s wife published on Instagram several photos taken during the holiday, in which the family appears admiring the Statue of Liberty.

In another post, Silva emphasized the importance of simple moments spent with loved ones. “The best weekends don’t need big plans. Just quality time, nature, unhurried conversations and the joy of reaching the end of the road with the person I love the most.” she wrote.
Richard Gere and Alejandra Silva got married in 2018 after dating in 2014. But the two had met a decade before, when they first met at the Silva family’s hotel in Positano.
The couple have two sons, Alexander and James. The actor is also the father of Homer Gere, from his marriage to Carey Lowell, and Alejandra Silva has a son, Albert, from her previous relationship with Govind Friedland.
In an interview given to the magazine HELLO! last year, Richard Gere explained that the principles of Tibetan Buddhism occupy an important place in family life and in the education of children. The actor confessed that his wife is the one who helped him become a more patient parent.
“She’s an amazing mother. I’ve learned to be a better father by watching her.” Gere stated.
For her part, Alejandra Silva said she tries to teach children the importance of patience and dialogue, values inspired by Buddhist philosophy.
Although he is approaching the age of 77, Richard Gere continues his artistic activity. The actor will appear in the series The Off Weeks, the romantic drama Asymmetry and the thriller Left Seat, projects to be released in the coming period.
