“In Craiova, the construction has reached the 2nd floor. In Iași, the works started recently, after the appeals ended. In Cluj, we are still in appeal, at the High Court of Cassation and Justice. According to our estimates, in April we should have the result and sign the contract”. said the Minister of Health, Alexandru Rogobete, on Primatv.

Rogobete stated that, currently, Romania has 22 construction sites for hospitals financed by European funds.

“There are 8 of the PNRR. One was put into use in December, in Bistrița, the first new building constructed after the Revolution. Seven others will be completed by August this year, including the Sibiu Polytrauma Center, the Craiova Polytrauma Center and the Marius Nasta Hospital in Bucharest”he added.

The minister also explained the plan for equipping hospitals: “In Craiova, the auction for the equipment will start this summer. The auction will take place as the construction progresses, so that when the construction is almost completed, the equipment can be delivered. The same is planned for Iași and Cluj.”

He emphasized that the delays do not affect the final execution deadline.

“In Craiova, the execution schedule gives a deadline of the end of 2028. In Iași, the same deadline is kept, even if there was a delay of one month, and in Cluj we also took into account the appeal that can last a year, so that they do not miss the deadline”. added the minister.
