Romanian Mihaela Cambei, three gold medals at the European Weightlifting Championships in Sofia. The athlete broke her own records

Mihaela Cambei (21 years old), registered at CSM Onești (Bacău), prevailed on Monday, February 12, 2024, in front of all the athletes participating in the European Weightlifting Championships in Sofia (Bulgaria), in the 49 kilogram category.

The athlete registered in Onești won 3 gold medals at the European Championships

The weightlifter also managed to set two European records.

Mihaela Cambei won with 90 kilograms in the snatch, although she missed the last attempt at 93 kilograms. Moreover, when throwing weights, he achieved a new European record of 109 kilograms.

With a total of 199 kg, the Romanian athlete set a new European record, also winning the gold medal.

The old European record for the thrown style was 106 kg and it also belonged to Mihaela Camba. It was established last year in Yerevan (Armenia).

Apart from the overall success of the athlete, Romania also won a medal on the first day of the European Championships in Sofia (February 12-20, 2024).

Ioana Miron won bronze in the 45 kg category, in the throwing style, with a performance of 85 kg. In the snatch, she ranked 6th, with 65 kg, and overall she ranked fourth, with 150 kg.

These days, Romania is participating with 13 athletes at the European Weightlifting Championships in Bulgaria. Since these championships represent qualification criteria for the Olympic Games in Paris, Mihaela Cambei is already qualified.

Our athlete won 3 gold medals and set a new European Senior and U23 record in the Olympic total with 199 Kg and another European record in the U23 throwing style.
