According to the director of the National Road Infrastructure Administration Company, the fast pace in which work is being done on section 4 of the Pitesti-Sibiu highway means that it is now more than 50% completed.

The general director of the National Road Infrastructure Administration Company (CNAIR) SA, Cristian Pistol, announced on Sunday, through a post on Facebook accompanied by images from the construction site, that section 4 of the Pitesti-Sibiu Highway could be completed before by the term stipulated in the contract, i.e. the year 2027.
“The builder works 24/7, including weekends! On the entire construction site, the physical condition is 59%.
The two tunnels were drilled:
– right gallery: 1,101 m out of 1,351 m
– left gallery: 938 m out of 1,351 m
Section 4 of the Sibiu-Pitesti highway (A1), has a length of 9.86 km and a contractual completion date of 2027 (financing provided by PT).

Transalpina, open as long as possible during the year
Also, Cristian Pistol says that, out of the desire to keep the Transalpina open for as long as possible during the year, the National Road Infrastructure Administration Company (CNAIR) submitted a financing project for its modernization.
“We want to keep traffic on the Transalpina open for as long as possible during the year, in safe and comfortable conditions!”, announced the head of CNAIR, Cristian Pistol. “Today I submitted for validation in SEAP the documentation for the tender of the contract required for the Feasibility Study (SF) for the modernization of DN67C (Transalpina) Bengești – Sebeș (between km 0 + 000 and km 148 + 414). The maximum estimated value of the contract is 48.98 million lei (without VAT), the financing is provided by the Transport Program (PT) 2021-2027, and the duration for the development of the SF is 18 months”. explained Cristian Pistol.
