Simulation results National Assessment 2025: Higher Mathematics Notes, Weaker Results in Romanian Language

The students who supported the simulation of national evaluation have achieved weaker results in the Romanian language test than in mathematics. According to the data published by the Ministry of Education and Research, in Romanian the percentage of grades higher than 5 was 64.01%, while in mathematics it was 71.97%.

Simulation Results National Assessment 2025

According to the statistical reports provided by the computer platform, the following situation is recorded on evidence and notes:

I. Romanian language and literature

Number of evaluated works: 161.883

Number of works with grades greater than or equal to 5: 103.629

The percentage of grades higher than or equal to 5: 64.01%.

II. Mathematics:

Number of works evaluated: 161.004

Number of works with grades greater than or equal to 5: 115.879

Percentage of grades higher than or equal to 5: 71.97%.

III. Maternal language and literature

Number of works evaluated: 9.607

Number of works with grades greater than or equal to 5: 8.566

Percentage of grades higher than or equal to 5: 89.16%.

C. The accuracy of the evaluation

The evaluation of the works was carried out under conditions similar to the digitized exams. In this context, the works were randomly distributed to evaluators from all over the country.

According to the methodology of organizing and conducting national exams, at a difference greater than one point between the notes given by the two evaluators, the works are re -conceived by two other evaluators, the final note being obtained as arithmetic mean of the two notes with central values, after eliminating the extreme notes (the highest and the lowest).

From this point of view, compared to the similar session of last year, there is a significant increase in the accuracy of the evaluation:

  • 8.81% re -evaluated works in Romanian language and literature this year, compared to 11.39% in 2024;
  • 0.1% re -evaluated works in mathematics this year, compared to 0.25% in 2024
  • 4.8% re -evaluated works in maternal language and literature this year, compared to 8% in 2024.

D. Communication of results

The results of the written tests of the simulation of the VIII are communicated individually, not by display.

The results were transmitted to the county school inspectorates/of the municipality of Bucharest and are being transmitted from the level of the school inspectorates to each educational unit both in the form of catalogs with the final notes and in the form of the borders associated with each evaluation.

The results will be analyzed at the level of each educational unit through discussions with students, meetings with parents, as well as at the level of the teacher council, in order to adopt appropriate measures to each situation, the purpose being to improve the school performances.

E. important clarifications

  • The written works of the students who have supported the simulation of the national evaluation are in the educational units in which the students have supported the written tests.
  • The teachers who teach the disciplines to which the samples of the simulation have been held have access to the works of the students in which they teach, as well as to the appropriate evaluation brothets, to discuss them with them.
  • In the context of using the digitized evaluation platform, the Ministry of Education has data relevant for an overview of the degree of success in each of the administered items. In this sense, we attach a quantitative analysis from which the degree of success results on each item, at national level, for Romanian and mathematical language and literature, as well as the topics and scales of the samples written in these simulations (also available on topics.edu.ro).
  • Such analyzes will be performed both at the level of education unit and at the level of school inspectorates.
  • Due to the fact that the objectives pursued by organizing the simulations are to familiarize the students with the rigors of a real exam and to optimize the results of the students, the educational units will use these analyzes as a basis for adopting the appropriate measures in this regard.

The National Center for Curriculum and Evaluation will carry out a detailed analysis of the students’ responses to each item to identify the degree of development of their skills, at national level. The analysis will be accompanied by recommendations of remedial activities.
