A week of vacation
After just a few weeks of classes, students across the country are putting away their textbooks on Friday, October 24, for the first break of the new 2025-2026 school year. It is about the autumn vacation, a period of respite long awaited by students, which comes after a beginning of the year marked by changes in education, homework and the specific rhythm of the school.
Classes will resume on Monday 3 November 2025 with the start of the second learning module, which will run until mid-December.
Module II: courses until the winter break
The second course module takes place between November 3 and December 19, 2025, followed by the winter vacation, the longest of the 2025-2026 school year.
Students and teachers will benefit from 19 consecutive days off, as January 6 (Baptism) and January 7 (Saint John the Baptist) are declared legal holidays, being the longest vacation of this school year.
Classes will resume on Thursday, January 8, 2026, with the start of the third module.
The mobile holiday: the locally determined “ski” week
After the resumption of classes, a new stage of study follows, which will end before the mobile vacation, scheduled at the beginning of February.
Between February 9 and March 1, 2026, each county school inspectorate and the Bucharest City Inspectorate will decide the exact period of the mobile vacation.
This is especially intended for recreational and sports activities, being also known as the “ski holiday”. As Adevărul already wrote, the schools were obliged to announce the chosen date by October 1, 2025.
