Suspicious fire at Mircea Dinescu’s estate. The poet claims 100,000 euros in damages: “First they set fire to my vineyard… I don’t understand why they curse me for becoming a landlord”

The poet Mircea Dinescu makes his first statements after the fire that destroyed his house on the estate in Dolj and talks about his suspicions. The writer links the incident to a previous episode, when his vineyard was set on fire.

A strong fire destroyed, approximately two weeks ago, the wooden house that Mircea Dinescu had on his property in Cetate commune, Dolj county. The house, built in the vineyard, was engulfed in flames and burned completely, and the authorities opened an investigation to establish the causes of the fire.

For the writer, the place has a special significance, being one to which he feels deeply connected, so he is very affected by the incident, especially since, he says, he faced a similar situation a few months ago, after his vineyard was set on fire.

Although he does not directly point to responsible persons, Mircea Dinescu says that he has certain suspicions and links them to older reactions caused by his public positions. At the same time, he refers to the way he is perceived by some and the criticism that has been brought to him in recent years.

“It’s about a house that I had built in the vineyard, a wooden house. Today the investigations began. First they set fire to my vineyard, a few months ago, and now they also set fire to my house. I can’t say concretely, because I don’t know (or who the culprits are), but I think this is the result of that statement by Ion Iliescu, when I was a patron at Cațavencii”. he said to spynews.ro.

Despite the damage suffered, the writer says that he has no intention of giving up his projects in the area and announces that he will be reborn from the fire like the Phoenix bird.

“I don’t understand why they curse me for becoming a landlord. They have it in their heads that I am a landlord, although I never had more than 50 hectares. Probably those from Greater Romania… some bitter, that there is also the problem of poverty, that this theft in Romania is not only at the level of politicians, who have clearly stolen and destroyed this country over the course of 30 years. (…) I think that they will be like the phoenix bird and I will rise from the ashes“, Mircea Dinescu also said.

A criminal case was opened

The fire that destroyed the wooden house of Mircea Dinescu, from the Cetate commune, is under the attention of prosecutors from the Prosecutor’s Office attached to the Calafat Court. After the complaint filed by the writer, the police opened a criminal case for destruction by arson, and the investigation was taken over by the prosecutors.

According to the information in the local press, the criminal prosecution in rem has been started, which means that, for now, the investigations are aimed at the deed, not a specific person. However, the investigation is progressing, and several suspects are expected to be questioned in the coming period.

The fire, produced approximately two weeks ago, completely destroyed the wooden construction located on the writer’s property, the damage being estimated at around 100,000 euros, according to the data in the file.

According to the same source, Mircea Dinescu is legally represented by the Crudiu si Asociații Law Firm, which assists in ongoing criminal proceedings.
