The 61st edition of the Mamaia National Light Music Festival started on Friday, August 23, and the novelty this year is the return to the creation and interpretation contest forum.

10 artists will fight for the Grand Trophy in the Interpretation Section and 10 composers in the Creation Section, judged by Horia Moculescu, Corina Chiriac, Liliana Stanciu Georgescu, Laura Parfinov, Marian Cioaca, Ionel Tudor and Marius Țeicu, according to MagicFM.
Regarding the voting system, the public vote is worth 50% of the final mark and 50% is worth the jury vote. Those present can vote by SMS to a number that will be announced during the contest or online, on the event website.
Contestants who will participate in the contest on Friday evening can be voted from 19:00 to 00:00, and those who enter the contest on Saturday evening, can be voted in the same way, on that day.
This year’s edition will be presented by Anca Țurcașiu and Aurelian Temișan, in turn former competitors at “Mamaia National Light Music Festival”. The two will give the atmosphere of nostalgia, a modern air, full of hope for the new generations of artists who will participate.

Last year the anniversary edition took place “Mother 60” and brought back to Piațeta Perla the intense emotion of the most hummed hits from the immortal repertoire of Romanian light music in the interpretation of some of the most beloved Romanian artists: Corina Chiriac, Marina Voica, Loredana Groza, Călin Geambașu, Gabriel Cotabiță and many others.
The Mamaia National Light Music Festival is organized by the Constanța County Council and the Cultural Center “Teodor T. Burada” Constanța and is produced by Media Group Services International through the events division Kimaro Entertainment.
