The experience related by a Romanian employer in search of female workers caused a wave of reactions on social networks. The entrepreneur complained that he has not been able to find employees, even though he is called by a lot of women who seem, at first, interested in the service offered.

The message of a Romanian employer who posted a job ad looking for female workers at an ironing shop, sparked a wave of reactions on social networks.
He complained about the way Romanians act who seem interested in finding jobs, but end up disappearing from work, even after the first days of work.
The workers leave after a day or two
Most, it shows, even though they call and schedule job interviews, they don’t even inform their potential employer that they won’t show up for the meeting.
“I’ve been facing a problem for about a month and, frankly, I don’t know how to proceed, because I’ve never faced this situation before: A month ago I found myself with the resignation of one of the employees, who left, having a debt to the company of over 1,000 lei. I wiped with the sponge and announced that we were looking for a colleague. Daily, without exaggeration, at least ten people contacted me. But out of seven, for example, with whom I set a date, only one or none arrives. And the ones that come stay for a day or two and then they don’t come anymore. We make them contract from the first day, occupational medicine, etc. I asked him what salary they think would be appropriate for their position, and most of the time they say a much lower salary than we offer them”, writes the employer, on the “Group of Entrepreneurs from Romania”, on Facebook.
The author of the message who posted a job ad for women textile workers, to iron them, complained that he had never encountered such problems until now, and most of his employees had kept the same jobs for several years of work.
“Did I miss something somewhere? That they complain, they complain that they have debts, rent, etc. and say that they want a stable job”he adds. The post sparked a wave of reactions.
Perhaps the reality differs from what is initially presented to them in the interview or in the job advertisement, believes one of the netizens, while another reproached him that, probably, since it is about ironing, it is hard physical work and, in general, poorly paid . Another employer claims that curious people come to interviews, rather than people eager to work.
Another Romanian says that he went through a similar experience, and that the environment created at work by the other employees is to blame.
“I had problems with negative influences from employees who seemed ok. And, in reality, they called new employees green and dry, and the same with us, after one or two days they stopped coming to work. It took me a while to figure out who the people were. Once I got rid of them, the situation improved. They still didn’t come, but the escape rate had decreased. From my point of view, it’s a blessing when those people don’t come, only to come and pull out white hairs with their attitude, of total lack of enthusiasm and involvement”. write this one.
Hard to find Romanian workers
And other Romanians told how difficult it was for them to find employees and what demands they had.
“I had a job ad as a pizza maker and they asked me on the phone if I could send pictures of the pizza, and if they like it, they would also come to the interview. Then, when they heard how many pizzas are made per day on average, some gave up. In the end we solved it by bringing staff from abroad”reported another entrepreneur.
Some Romanians say that company owners are also partly to blame for the difficulties they face in finding employees.
“I, as a simple worker, would not only look at the salary but also at the probability of a promotion (this is because, with a lack of modesty, my capabilities are greater, which the “ironing” position does not really offer. I would accept such a job, just to have an income until I find something I think suits me“, says a Romanian woman.
“I’ve been working with employees for over 10 years and my conclusion is this: I can’t wait for robots”was another message.
“As you put it, you’re not good at recruiting. The candidate feels that you are nervous, agitated, you have no experience in recruiting, they feel that in your mind “you are dealing with all the fools” and … run away, of course!”, concludes another Romanian.
“I’m thinking that the salary offered is too low in relation to the workload or you have toxic people inside who don’t accept newcomers. I don’t think anyone is wasting their time coming to work one day for nothing. You can sort candidates by previous jobs, the fewer the better. Don’t look too young, look for people who have children, they are generally more stable. Try people at 35 +, they already have experience, they are more responsible. But make sure the promised salary gives him a decent living. And try to be personally present two months between employees, eat with them at the table, sit personally with that person who came. You may have a problem inside”is a tip received by the employer.
