After the initial suspension dictated by the ITIA, Simona Halep was not allowed to play or even be present in the stands at games organized under the tutelage of the international federation. He also couldn't do his training on certain courts, but the nightmare is over for the former world number 1. Now, the Romanian has full rights as a tennis player and has decided to participate in the Miami Open, even if for now there is no question of resounding results.

He has no team behind him

At the American tournament, Simona Halep will start in a week, so she has already returned to training. Without a team behind her, the athlete quickly found a training partner, training alongside Alexandra Cadanțu-Igantik. The two posted a picture together on Instagram. Alexandra also had a message for Halep, who reposted her picture: “Happy to see you on the pitch again”.

Regarding the coach, there are chances that “Simo” will resume the collaboration with the Australian Darren Cahill. “At the moment, I don't have a team, but I have a few days at my disposal to form a team the way I want. There were also very good collaborations with the Romanian coaches, but for me the collaboration with Darren Cahill was special and together with him I achieved the best results. Nothing is excluded, I will think carefully and choose“.

The Miami Open will be played from March 17-31

Simona Halep will be the 16th player in the main draw of the Miami Open to win a career Grand Slam, a record set by the US tournament.
