The Bucharest College of Physicians (CMMB) self-reported after a woman fell into a cerebral coma and died following an aesthetic procedure “mini face lift” performed in a clinic in the capital.
“Following the information that appeared regarding possible violations of ethical and professional norms, in the case of a patient who went through a “mini facial lifting” surgical procedure in a clinic in Bucharest, the College of Doctors of the Municipality of Bucharest self-reported following a meeting held yesterday afternoon”the institution sent on its Facebook page.
At the same time, CMMB informed that it initiated the disciplinary investigation of the doctor involved in the intervention.
We remind you that Valentina, a 45-year-old woman from Vâlcea, came to Bucharest for an aesthetic facelift operation, but the procedure turned into a tragedy. During the intervention, the patient suffered serious complications and ended up brain dead, being urgently transferred to the Floreasca Hospital.
The woman was clinically dead for more than a week, being kept alive only by machines. CT scans performed in the hospital indicated an intraventricular cerebral hemorrhage, most likely caused by a ruptured blood vessel.
Her husband, Sorin Dumitru, accused that the intervention was carried out in improper conditions and that his wife was not subjected to pre-operative analyzes that could have prevented the tragedy.
Cseke Attila, the interim Minister of Health, on Tuesday ordered a control of the Sanitary Inspection at the medical office in Bucharest where the procedure was performed, but the clinic was closed.
