The city where the first mobile MRI in Romania was inaugurated. The imaging investigations go directly to the operating room and the Intensive Care Unit

This system is introduced for the first time in Romania, imaging investigations can be performed in the operating room or in Intensive Care.

The inauguration of the new Mobile MRI took place at the Emergency Clinical Hospital “Prof. Dr. Nicolae Oblu” in Iasi.

For the first time in Romania, we are introducing a mobile MRI system. It is an absolute first, made possible by a modernization project, worth over one million euros, financed by the Ministry of Health. For the first time, a Romanian hospital can perform high-performance imaging investigations during neurosurgical interventions, directly in the operating room and in intensive care. We no longer walk critical patients around the hospital. We bring technology to them. Where every second counts”said the Minister of Health, Alexandru Rogobete.

He stated that it is not about a one-time purchase, but about a stage of transformation of the hospital in Iasi into a “national and European landmark in neurosurgery and spinal surgery”.

“In medical emergencies there is no later. There is only now. And the chance that a quick diagnosis offers. I wanted to see with my own eyes how it works. So I had my first MRI in the first mobile MRI system in Romania: 6 minutes. Yes, 6 minutes, compared to the 60 minutes of a classic MRI. It’s incredible where we can go when we invest correctly and with vision”, said the Minister of Health, Alexandru Rogobete.

According to Iași doctors, the new mobile MRI offers fast and accurate diagnosis in acute and postoperative neurological cases, a direct integration into the operating flow, facilitating more efficient interventions. At the same time, mobile MRI reduces diagnostic time and offers increased chances of recovery.
