The Destination of the Year 2024 competition also extends to the Republic of Moldova

Destination of the Year, the most important project to promote tourist destinations in Romania, announces for the first time the extension of the competition from 2024 to the Republic of Moldova.

The Destination of the Year 2024 competition also extends to the Republic of Moldova

The Destination of the Year competition also extends to the Republic of Moldova, in a promotion partnership between the Association Institute for Visionary Cities, the National Tourism Office and the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Moldova.

Destinations from the Republic of Moldova will have the opportunity to register in this year's competition, alongside destinations from Romania, thus benefiting from promotion in both countries. A destination from the Republic of Moldova can win any of the categories, if it has the highest score.

After the first round of judging, the destinations that reach the top 10 per category move on to the next stage. Finalists from the Republic of Moldova will be voted in the same categories as those from Romania: Public Vote, Jury Vote, Visionary Destination Research. Public voting does not depend on borders: citizens of Romania, Moldova or other countries who wish to express their preference can vote.

In addition, regardless of the category in which it participated, the destination from the Republic of Moldova with the highest total score will receive the special award “Destination of the Year in the Republic of Moldova“. It will be awarded during the Gala that will take place at the Romanian Athenaeum on May 21, 2024.
