Hundreds of locals and tourists who spent the night between years in Valea Prahova chose to walk, on the first day of 2025, on the slope at Sinaia, at 2000 meters altitude. The sun and light wind made January 1 a perfect day for skiing or snowboarding.
Several hundred people climbed, on Wednesday, on the first day of the year, to altitude 1400 or up to altitude 2000, in Bucegi, on the ski area of the Sinaia resort, Prahova county.
After Christmas the slopes were closed due to the strong wind, the first day of the new year offered perfect conditions for skiing or snowboarding: the wind blew lightly, it was sunny and the temperatures were positive, according to news.ro.
In Sinaia, on Wednesday, the slopes Valea Soarelui 1, Valea Soarelui 2, Lăptici 1, Lăptici 2, Valea Dorului, Panoramic, Floare de Colţ, Vâlcel, Călugărul 1, Călugărul 3, Variantă and Summer Road are open.
At the Valea soarelui chairlift, winter sports enthusiasts waited in line to go up.
On Wednesday, the means of transport by cable started the program with the public two hours later than the usual schedule, and from Thursday they will operate according to the normal schedule.
