Although he has more than three decades of career, Fuego, whose real name is Paul Surugiu, is not slowing down. He says that 2025 was an extremely busy year, with no holidays or days off, full of concerts, filming and exhibitions. Even though he has a full schedule, the artist admits that he is constantly working on his physical form, but also on his inner balance.

“I confess that I had a full year. Sometimes I sit and think if it’s worth it. For example, I didn’t have a vacation this year, I didn’t get anywhere to relax or see a new place. I channeled my energy into activity, many projects, events, concerts, exhibitions with paintings in museums in Romania and all kinds of activities. What’s most complicated are the long journeys, which I make by car. But we’re moving forward. Basically, this I made my choice and that’s what I know how to do best. For example, the last month was with activity every day. It seems hard to believe, but it was so. We did exhibitions, we had concerts in various places, then we filmed the entire 15th season of the show “Drag de Romania mea!”, which will debut on October 17 and 18, on TVR 2″, the artist declared for Click!.
Fuego admits that he is constantly working on his physical form, but also on his inner balance.
“I always go through various stages, during a year. I have moments when I add more kilos, others when I lose weight. Now I am entering a process of losing weight, but not a hard one, but a thorough one, with certain waivers. I try to stop eating carbohydrates, that is, bread, potatoes, flour, puff pastry and other dishes in this category. The quantities are smaller and I struggle to have a fixed schedule, which is why it is almost impossible, at the workload, the roads and the events I have. I eat during filming breaks and other less happy times, especially at night after 11pm.
But I manage to lose a few kilos, to get in optimal shape. What’s even funnier is the fact that I have jackets for every weight category I have. When I gain 5-6 kilograms I take certain jackets, when I have more others and so on. I avoid changing them because I don’t have the frequency clear. Beyond that, on the physical side, I try to work with my mind, to be in good general condition and to be able to create, to produce, to face challenges, and this year has been intense in terms of the diversity of activities. And it’s not over yet. I’m not complaining, in fact it’s honouring, for an independent artist like me, with his niche, with a 33-year career, to still be on people’s lips and to be able to perform”, said the artist.
National caroling tournament, from November
Although he doesn’t have time to decorate the tree, Fuego promises to bring the magic of Christmas to the whole country. His traditional caroling tour, which has become a tradition for 19 years, will start at the end of November, with stops in cities such as Cluj, Oradea, Alba Iulia, Sibiu, Pitesti, Galați, Iași, Brașov, Constanța and Bucharest.
“I haven’t really decorated the tree, literally, for quite a few years, because I don’t have the time and because I’m out all over the country for the whole month of December, with my traditional caroling tour, which has become a tradition for 19 years and in which I meet thousands of people. Yes, this year I’m also going to “decorate” all the trees in Romania, as if that’s the only joke anyone can make. But I don’t mind”. said Fuego, who will conclude the series with a special show at H Brewery on December 28.
