“For the horrible lies about me – the ones about the “billion stolen from vaccines” – PSD is obliged by the court to pay me compensation in the amount of 25,000 euros as moral damages. Moreover, the court obliges the defendant to withdraw the miserable posts from Facebook and to publish, at his own expense, the device of this decision, after it has become final, in two publications of national circulation, on the website of the defendant PSD and on the social networks Facebook and Telegram”, writes Vlad Voiculescu on Facebook.

Voiculescu shows that the pandemic was the greatest misfortune that has befallen the lives of people all over the world for many, many years.

“It led to the biggest drop in life expectancy seen since World War II. Almost 7 million deaths. In Romania, the pandemic – like any crisis – has shown what our values are, so our priorities as a society. These are best seen in public policies. When life was protected throughout Europe, our politicians were relaxed. Parties at luxury clubs were going fast. The foreigners who came to us were amazed, tens of thousands of Romanians died arriving at the hospital “with their tongues on the pillow”, as the desperate doctors said in those months. When we finally had vaccines, few at first, Iohannis and PNL decided to give them to special people, not to the old and sick, as everyone in the West did. Globally, more than 90% of deaths from COVID-19 have occurred among people over the age of 60. When we had enough vaccines – vaccines purchased by Colonel Gheorghiţă’s CNCAV with the approval of Prime Minister Cîţu (PNL), the bad public messages “we defeated the pandemic” and the anti-vaccination campaigns of some unconscious people led to the lowest vaccination rate in Europe and the most large number of deaths in the fall of 2021“, states Vlad Voiculescu.

According to Voiculescu, “above all, public health has been turned into a mess, a show of political attacks by PSD, PNL, AUR, Sosoacă and all the unfortunates in the press and social media against doctors, nurses, science in general but also me, Ioana Mihăilă and USR, in particular“. “In the last half year, these PSD and PNL attacks took the form of a disparaging campaign against me. I notified the courts about this fact, and the Bucharest Court sanctioned PSD’s behavior and statements like “the man with the billion”, “the 1 billion euro cannon”, “locked up Romanians in their houses so they could steal”, “criminal”, “criminal”, forcing PSD to pay the sum of 25,000 euros with the title of moral damages and the withdrawal of derogatory articles from its platforms, together with the publication of the judgment“, says Vlad Voiculescu.

The Bucharest court ruled in this case on Tuesday, July 9.

Admits, in part, the request for summons. It obliges the defendant to pay to the plaintiff a compensation in the amount of 25,000 euros, at the BNR exchange rate on the day of payment, as moral damages. Obliges the defendant to withdraw the post of 23.11.2024 from his account opened on the Facebook social network. Obliges the defendant to publish, at his own expense, the disposition of this decision, after it has become final, in two publications of national circulation, on the website of the defendant PSD and on the social networks Facebook and Telegram. Rejects, as unfounded, the plaintiff’s request to compel the defendant to cease in the future any alleged defamatory statements against the plaintiff. It obliges the defendant to pay the plaintiff the sum of 100 lei, as court costs, representing the stamp duty, and notes that the plaintiff has reserved the right to request court costs representing the lawyer’s fee, separately. With the right of appeal within 30 days from the communication, the request to be submitted to the Bucharest Court, Civil Section III, under penalty of nullity. Pronounced today, 07/09/2024, by making the solution available to the parties through the mediation of the court registry”it is stated in the decision of the magistrates of the Bucharest Court.
