The interim Minister of Transport and Defense, Radu Miruță, states that the current interim Government can fulfill its duties, but Romania still needs an Executive with full powers. The statements were made on Friday, August 21, in Timisoara.
“This government is more legitimate than the PSD would like, who thought that if they overturned the table and left the Government, all of Romania would cry”, said Radu Miruță, according to Agerpres.
The interim minister admitted, however, that the formation of a new Government is necessary so that the Executive can fully apply the policies it assumes.
“We urgently need to have a government, but this government just proves that it works. And it just proves that PSD’s plans to block various decisions in Romania have not achieved their goal”he said.
Miruță added that the current political situation should not prevent the necessary decisions for Romania.
“However, beyond these plans of the Social Democratic Party, Romania needs a government with full powers, to be able to carry out the public policy that that government will have. We are working on this”. stated the minister.
Miruță: USR will not vote for a Government in which PSD is a part
Radu Miruță also reaffirmed the USR’s position regarding the possible negotiations for the formation of the future Executive. He specified that the formation does not change its decision not to support a government in which the PSD is included.
“It is a constraint between the political parties, we said what are the thresholds and degrees of freedom in which we sit at the table, in the sense that we no longer vote for a government with the Social Democratic Party”, said Miruta.
The interim minister believes that Romania needs an Executive that can make long-term decisions, not temporary solutions.
“Romania does not need these dressings to get through three or four more months. Romania needs a government that will carry out with all its power, some measures that it assumes in the government program”he stated.
Radu Miruță was present on Friday in Timișoara, where he had meetings with his Serbian counterpart for technical discussions on the development of road and naval transport between Romania and Serbia, including transport on the Bega.
