The new digital platform for the National Health Insurance House will be put into operation towards the end of the year, the Minister of Health, Alexandru Rogobete, announced on Friday.

“The new computer platform of the National Health Insurance House is a digital software, where all medical service providers are connected and which has not been modified since 2002. By PNRR, there is a project of 100 million euros for the development of a new digital platform for the National Health Insurance House, which, this time, interacts with the patient. Username and password, both on the desktop, on the computer and on the mobile phone, and can see their medical history – analyzes, references, medical letters, prescriptions and so on.the Minister of Health said for Digi24.
According to him, the new platform disappears the types and wandered papers; The referral tickets, the medical letters and the leave become digital, instant available documents; The patient’s electronic file and electronic prescription become functional realities; The medical history can be accessed anytime and anywhere – from the web or phone.
Alexandru Rogobete acknowledged that the current system – Pias – is going on blockages: “It is a software since 2002, I repeat, which has not been updated and which for years has not even had maintenance.”
The first appearance of the new platform will be available “Somewhere at the end of this year, with some of the modules, and until August next year it will be functional and integrated into the system”.
Over 16 million citizens depend on Pias, more than 70,000 medical service providers are connected daily, and the system validates and reports over 700,000 services, of which about 200,000 are medical prescriptions, Rogobete explained.
