The 360medical.ro platform has launched the BETA version of the Oncologic Navigator, a free digital guide that aims to help cancer patients understand the medical process more easily, from the appearance of the first symptoms to diagnosis, treatment and monitoring after the end of therapy.
The navigator structures the patient’s path in eight stages and gathers information, presented in an accessible language, about the symptoms that require medical evaluation, the role of the family doctor, the necessary investigations, establishing the diagnosis, evaluation in the multidisciplinary committee (Tumor Board), oncological treatment, follow-up, services and therapies settled through the public system, as well as patients’ rights.
The platform includes guidelines for several types of cancer, including breast, lung, colorectal, prostate, cervical, ovarian, gastric, melanoma and lymphoma.
“An oncological diagnosis brings not only fear, but also a lot of questions: where do I have to go, what investigations follow, what is settled, what documents are needed and what are my rights? The Oncological Navigator was created so that the patient can find this information in one place, in a clear and easy-to-follow form”. said Dr. Nicolae Fotin, medical director of 360medical.ro.
He stated that the project is open to collaboration with health professionals and patient organizations to develop and update information.
“We want the project to be developed together with professionals and organizations that can contribute to increasing the quality of information and better patient guidance,” added Dr. Nicolae Fotin.
360medical.ro representatives launched a call to medical societies, universities, hospitals, patient organizations and pharmaceutical companies to contribute to the scientific validation of information, the development of educational content and the expansion of the network of oncology navigators.
The platform is exclusively educational and indicative, and the creators emphasize that it does not replace medical consultation and does not offer individual therapeutic recommendations. At this stage, the project is in BETA, and users are invited to submit suggestions and proposals for improving the content.
