More and more Romanians choose to postpone their holidays for September, when the temperatures are more pleasant, the resorts are less crowded, and accommodation prices drop after the peak of the season. For those who can afford to go outside the summer period, the autumn holiday can mean a few days of relaxation at the sea or in the mountains on a smaller budget.
In addition, September is a good time for those who want to avoid the crowds of July and August. The beaches are freer, the traffic is less, and the temperatures are easier to bear for those who want to combine relaxation with walks and excursions, according to Click.ro.
On the Romanian coast, the price differences compared to the peak period can be important. In Mamaia, for two people, a room can cost around 370-500 lei per night, depending on the hotel and the services included. At some units, however, the rates can exceed 500 lei per night.
In Eforie Nord, there are also more affordable options. At some three-star hotels, prices for the beginning of September start at around 190 lei per night, while other units reach 400-500 lei.
And in Neptun you can find options for lower budgets, with rates of approximately 150-250 lei per night for two people, depending on the period chosen and the category of the accommodation unit. Thus, a couple booking three nights can pay between 450 and 750 lei for accommodation, for the cheaper options.
Those who prefer the mountains can, in turn, find more affordable offers after the end of the summer season. In Sinaia, for example, for the period September 13-30, a double room with breakfast included can cost approximately 194-229 lei per night at some three-star hotels.
In Bușteni, for a three-night stay, there are options from approximately 314 lei per person for the entire stay, depending on the unit chosen and the services included. Other offers can reach 344-420 lei per person for three nights.
In Predeal, prices differ according to category and facilities. Some rooms can cost around 400 lei per night, including breakfast, while other establishments have rates of around 135-190 lei per person per night.
For some tourists, the choice of September is primarily a financial one. Raluca, aged 26, says she prefers to go on vacation after the busy period in August.
“We chose September because in August it’s very crowded and, frankly, the prices seem too high. In September we can stay for a few days without feeling like we’re spending all our money on accommodation. It’s quieter, it’s not the same madness on the beach or in the streets, and the temperatures aren’t so hard to bear either.” says the young woman.
For those who are not conditioned by school holidays or fixed vacation periods, September can thus become an alternative to the peak season: less crowding, more bearable temperatures and, in many cases, lower accommodation rates.
