The Sanitas Federation asks Manole for solutions to increase the income of health and social assistance employees in 2027

The Sanitas Federation asks the Minister of Labor, Florin Manole, to find solutions to increase the incomes of Health and Social Assistance employees in 2027 and “real negotiations” for a new wage law, but to cancel the restrictions imposed during the Bolojan Government. The two systems need sufficient staff, adequate funding and conditions that allow the provision of quality public services, say the trade unionists.

The representatives of the Sanitas Federation met, on Tuesday, with Florin Manole, the Minister of Labor, and with the Secretary of State Ciprian Văcaru to discuss the main problems affecting the employees of Health and Social Assistance.

“The Sanitas message was clear: the two systems can no longer function by postponing problems and accumulating imbalances. We need both immediate solutions and decisions that provide predictability”, the federation says, in a press release quoted by News.ro.

Thus, the trade unionists requested a new salary law, “correct, fair and built through real negotiations with the social partners”.

“The future law must start from the realities of Health and Social Assistance, from the responsibility and complexity of work and from the need to eliminate salary inequities. Sanitas requests a real process of negotiation between the social partners, not a simple formal consultation on some decisions already taken”, they say.

At the same time, Sanitas requested the identification, for the year 2027, of real solutions to increase the incomes of Health and Social Assistance employees.

“Until the negotiation and adoption of a new law, Sanitas requests the Government to present a concrete assessment of the budgetary impact entailed by the full application of the Framework Law No. 153/2017. We believe that any fair discussion about future salaries must start from real figures and from the unfulfilled salary obligations. The solutions identified must correct the inequities and allow the recovery of salary rights provided for by the Framework Law no. 153/2017, but not granted as a result of its incomplete application, so as to offer a fair salary perspective to all professional categories in the two systems”, the statement reads.

Another request referred to ensuring the funding necessary for the functioning of the Social Assistance system. Sanitas representatives requested the provision of financial resources to allow the system to function until the end of 2026, as well as the construction for 2027 of a correct, predictable and sufficient financing mechanism, showing that social services cannot operate permanently under the pressure of a lack of money, and employees cannot be transformed, year after year, into victims of underfunding.

At the same time, Sanitas requested the cancellation of the restrictions imposed during 2026 by the ordinances adopted by the Bolojan Government.

“The Sanitas Federation requests the elimination of the restrictive measures that affect the functioning of Health and Social Assistance, the staff and the rights of employees. The two systems need sufficient staff, adequate funding and conditions that allow the provision of quality public services. We expect today’s dialogue to continue by identifying and assuming, in the next period, the necessary solutions. For us, the year 2027 cannot be another year of postponements. Salary problems must be corrected. “Health and social assistance must be properly financed. The restrictions that block the operation of the two systems must be removed,” the statement added.
