Friday also saw the second final of the Tournament of Champions in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Tonight’s second finalist is Coco Gauff, who will play Qinwen Zheng.

The 20-year-old American player is currently ranked No. 3 in the Women’s Tennis Association (WTA). Gauff defeated Sabalenka in one hour and 49 minutes, winning in a minimum of sets, 7-6(4), 6-3.

Also on Friday, Qinwen Zheng got past Barbora Krejcikova, whom she beat in two sets, two sets 6-3, 7-5.

It is Gauff’s third final of the year, having won the first two – in Beijing and Auckland, while Zheng is in her fifth final this year, after Wuhan, Palermo, Tokyo, the Australian Open and the Paris Olympics . The Chinese won in three finals – in Tokyo, Palermo and Paris, writes News.ro.
