The seismic risk class of the buildings will be entered in the land register. What the Emergency Ordinance adopted by the government provides

The government adopted an Emergency Ordinance by which it adopts several measures related to the seismic strengthening of buildings.

According to the Ministry of Development, the seismic risk class of a building will be entered in the land register, so that “this information should be visible in the land deed extract”.

“The measure ensures correct information for citizens before purchasing a home and increases the responsibility of all actors involved in the real estate market”, according to a press release from the Ministry of Development.

At the same time, the Ministry of Development announced that it will extend the National Investment Program “Safe and Healthy Schools”, the National Program for the Consolidation of “Mihail Cantacuzino” Hospitals and the National Program for the Expertise of Buildings in the Health and Education Systems.

“On these programs, 343 financing contracts are signed for seismic strengthening, worth 5 billion lei, of which 25 objectives, worth 1 billion lei, target the municipality of Bucharest”says the Ministry of Development.

At the same time, the legal framework is created through which the local public administration authorities can finance emergency intervention works in case of breakdowns or technical accidents that affect a significant number of homes. These interventions are aimed at eliminating immediate dangers and preventing the worsening of risk situations, and the amounts allocated will be managed according to the decisions of the local deliberative authorities.

“People’s safety is a priority. Through these measures, the state assumes an active role: it informs correctly, intervenes quickly and creates clear support mechanisms in situations of major risk. It is an important step to protect life, homes and the operation of essential public services”, stated the Minister of Development, Cseke Attila.
