Gene Hackman and Betsy Arakawa’s bodies are still in the custody of the New Mexico law of laws, being included in the list of unreaved people, updated weekly, according to TMZ.

Gene Hackman, 95 years old, and his wife, Betsy Acakawa, a 65 -year -old painter, were found dead in their residence in Santa Fe, New Mexico on February 26. Arakawa died first, after being infected with Hantavirus, a disease transmitted by contact with rodents. Hackman, who was suffering from Alzheimer’s in advanced stage, died a week after her.

The absence of a gesture from his children – Leslie Ann, Christopher and Elizabeth – led to speculation on a tense relationship between the actor and his family. The three live in California and are born from Hackman’s first marriage with Faye Maltese.

According to sources quoted by dailymail.com, tensions between brothers and bureaucracy that delay the process could be the cause of the delay.

As for the relationship between Hackman and his children, it is speculated that the actor would have lived in the last years in isolation, because of his illness and differences with his family. Also, close sources claim that there would have been a certain distance between Hackman and his daughters.

Their death came as a shock to Hackman’s fans, an iconic actor of Hollywood, and now this mysterious situation with unrequited bodies adds a disturbing note to the end of a brilliant career.
