The German striker Niclas Füllkrug, newly transferred this winter to AC Milan, was the victim of a major robbery.
His luxury watches and jewelry, along with accessories belonging to his wife, were stolen and the total damage is estimated at around 500,000 euros.
According to Gazzetta dello Sport, the incident took place on the night of Wednesday to Thursday in his hotel room in Como, where Füllkrug was staying for the match against Cesc Fàbregas’ team. The player’s safe was broken into and items stolen included watches, jewellery, bracelets, rings and earrings.
The authorities in Milan intervened quickly, collecting the surveillance camera images and opening an investigation, and the official complaint against the thieves was also filed.
