If most of the wives of the current footballers are pleased in a carefree life, without great achievements, in Răzvan Lucescu’s family, things are different. Ana Maria, the wife of the coach of Paok Thessaloniki, makes translations from the Neo-Greek (modern Greek), took her master in translatology and passed the exam for the highest level of competence in this language.

Ana Maria Lucescu will launch her first book on Monday: a translation of the work of the famous Greek writer Isidoros Zouros, who will be called in Romanian “A few nights and one more”. The event, in which her husband, Răzvan, will also participate in the Humanitas Bookstore in Cișmigiu. “It all started with a great passion for foreign languages, which I have since I know. Wherever I lived, I have endeavored to learn the language of the country-in order to communicate with its inhabitants, to better understand the habits and traditions and to have access to its entire cultural wealth,” Ana Maria Lucescu told Fanatik.
The wife of Paok thessaloniki’s coach detailed: “With the move to Greece, in 2014, I began to learn the neo-Greek language, which I also fell in love with. After years of study sustained, after which I managed to pass the exam for the highest level of competence in this language, I felt the need to go further – beyond its simple knowledge.
Did Master in translatology
My teacher since then, Evanthia Papaefthimiou, was the one who encouraged me to start on the road ”said Ana Maria Lucescu, who made a master’s degree in translatology, so that the variant in Romanian is at the highest level. After a first version A, completed in 2021, she decided to study, at the University of Bucharest, after which she made the final version of the book.

I never thought I would become a translator. I graduated the ASE many years ago and I had an economist. We have run companies and followed, among others, several management and financial analysis courses
“I translated the novel at least twice. Isidoros Zouros is noted for a very rich and expressive language, which made the translation work, on the one hand, demanding, but, on the other hand, I started to translate with great pleasure and enthusiasm, but I felt that it was not enough;
Many do not realize how complex the process of transfer from one language to another is. For me, most of the work was research-even more than the translation itself ”said Ana Maria Lucescu.
