After this message, fake information was distributed on TikTok in which Delia Matache would support Călin Georgescu, attributing to her statements that are not related to reality.
“Delia on the side of Călin Georgescu”, is the title superimposed on a photo of the artist, in which also appears a message in which she would show her support for the controversial candidate.
The TikTok account that shares this fake news has thousands of followers and many people have commented on the words put into the artist’s mouth.
In reality, Delia spoke vehemently against the independent candidate Călin Georgescu, who, through his controversial statements, endangers Romania’s membership in the European Union and NATO. The artist was outraged by his position towards the role of women in society.
“Let’s try without fear, let’s stop being afraid to say our opinions, let’s have opinions because we have rights. Even if some newer people deny that we have equal rights, we have rights. We, the citizens, and we, the women, have rights. Yes, we are entitled to opinions…hmmmm, in the public space!”says Delia.
“Feminism is not an aberration, feminism allows us to have opinions in the public space”, she continued.
“Feminism allows us to drive a car, it allows us to vote. So feminism is good. Yes, it’s not a mess, hee hee”says Delia.
“I don’t know about you, but in the last days, I felt like this, like in “The Handmaid’s Tale”. I don’t know if you’ve watched the series, it sure seems like that’s where we’re headed and I’m scaredeh”, confessed the artist.
The artist also revealed with whom she voted and will vote again in the second round of the presidential elections.
“You asked me what I voted for and what I am voting for. I voted for Elena Lasconi, I will vote for Elena Lasconi because I am not afraid of her. I’m not afraid. We have come to relate to fear”she reveals.
“You can’t want me to vote for you and decide what my role is because I’m a woman, you can’t put your foot on my head because I’m a woman. You’re not saying it’s too much for me to work in positions because I’m a woman. You can’t do that and want me to vote for you,” reacted the singer.
“It’s not ok to use religion, even if it works very, very well”she says.
Călin Georgescu obtained the most votes in the first round of the presidential elections, 2.1 million, and will enter the second round with Elena Lasconi, USR representative.
