The actor Toto Dumitrescu, the son of the former great footballer Ilie Dumitrescu, was sentenced to two years of suspended prison after leaving the scene of the road accident that occurred in September 2025, on Primăverii Boulevard in Bucharest. The decision of the magistrates of the 1st District Court is not final.
“On the basis of Article 338 paragraph (1) of the Penal Code, with the application of Article 396 paragraphs (1), (2) and (10) of the Criminal Procedure Code, the defendant Dumitrescu Badea-Ilie is sentenced to 2 years in prison for the crime of leaving the scene of the accident.
Pursuant to art. 67 para. (1) Criminal Code, forbids the defendant the right to drive on public roads any vehicle for which it is necessary to hold a driving license, for a period of 3 years.
Based on art. 91 Penal Code, orders the suspension of the execution of the sentence of 2 years imprisonment under supervision and establishes a term of supervision of 3 years.
Pursuant to art. 93 para. (3) Penal Code obliges the defendant to perform unpaid work for the benefit of the community, during the period of supervision, for a period of 120 days.
Pursuant to art. 274 para. (1) C. proc. pen., compels the defendant to pay the sum of 4,500 lei, as legal expenses. With right of appeal within 10 days of communication”
The accident took place on September 14, in the area of Primaverii boulevard in the Capital. Toto Dumitrescu, driving an SUV, hit a black Audi car driven by Ilinca Amariei, 384th WTA place.
After the impact, the actor’s car ricocheted and damaged another vehicle in the intersection. The young athlete was trapped inside the car and was transported to the hospital with leg injuries. Later, she would have requested discharge.
After the impact, Toto Dumitrescu left the scene of the accident and was later found in an apartment in Ilfov. Although he initially denied drug use, tests indicated the presence of cocaine.
Less than a month before, the actor had escaped another similar case, after being stopped in traffic. Although there were traces of cocaine in the urine, blood tests did not confirm consumption, and the case was dropped.
