From the category: “Not like that!”. The former president explained, punctually, on Facebook why it is good for some people not to run for the position of president of Romania.
“From Geoana I found out that I would be Mrs. Lasconi’s advisor. It’s a lie. I am not Ms. Lasconi’s consultant, but if I were, I would give her some advice, namely:
1. Do not run for the position of president if you received watches as pay and you were called to the DNA with them;
2. Do not run for the position of president if videos of you have appeared in the public space when you received money/money to guarantee a person an eligible place on the parliamentary lists;
3. Do not run for the position of president if there are people who have declared and continue to declare publicly directly and through their spouses, that you personally asked and received from them hundreds of thousands of Euros to make them ministers;
4. Do not run for the position of president if you cannot explain how you ended up in the first days of 1990 employed in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, although your qualification was an engineer;
5. Do not run for the position of president if you are not prepared to explain the connection between your foreign career and the general who, during the revolution, invented the terrorists in the basements of Bucharest – see the statement of the prosecutor Dan Voinea (perhaps this is the explanation for point 4);
6. Do not run for president if you are so limited/stupid as to organize the plagiarism of a text spoken by Trump’s niece at the Republican Convention;
7. Do not run for president if you start from the premise that the result can be falsified in your favor. It was tried in Romania in 2009 with “local workers” and it didn’t work”, wrote Traian Băsescu on Facebook.
The former president also claimed that “the consultants’ advice is not mandatory”.
“Anyway, the consultants’ advice is not binding, so even if I were Ms. Lasconi’s consultant, she is free not to follow my advice. The only problem that would remain would be that in the event of a victory, even for one night, everything written in points 1 to 7 would be on the front page in all the press in the world and would refer to the NEW PRESIDENT OF ROMANIA” , Băsescu also said.
