UEFA has published the official all-time ranking of the teams that played between 1971 and 2023 in the Europa League (formerly the UEFA Cup), the second most important interclub competition on the continent. And FCSB occupies a very good place.

UEFA compiled the ranking based on the points collected by each team during their participation in the different editions of the Europa League.
“Adevărul” analyzed the interesting statistical data from this ranking.
In total, over the years, no less than 1,006 teams from all European countries have participated in the prestigious European football competition. And among these are also 29 teams from Romania.
In the first place in this all-time ranking compiled by UEFA for the Europa League is Inter Milan (3 trophies) with 236 points, followed by Sporting Lisbon -226 points, PSV Eindhoven – 219 points and Sevilla (seven trophies – the competition record ), with 217 points.
FCSB occupies an excellent 23rd place, with 145 points, surpassing famous and highly rated teams, such as Atletico Madrid – 26th place (137 points), Athletic Bilbao – 28th place (136 points), Napoli – 42nd place (141 points), AC Milan – 49th place (129 points), FC Porto – 62nd place (115 points), Real Madrid – 113th place (76 points), Manchester City – 125th place (69 points) and Chelsea – 164th place (49 points) .

FCSB's best performance in this competition was in the 2005-2006 season, when it was called Steaua Bucharest and played in the semi-finals, losing dramatically to Englishmen Middlesbrough in a double leg after a 1-0 win at home and a 4-2 away defeat after leading 2-0.
