Thousands of participants arrived at the festival by plane, train, coach and car, and Cluj International Airport recorded the busiest week in its history.
“Avram Iancu” Cluj International Airport recorded record traffic during the period 3-9 August 2026, the week in which Cluj-Napoca hosted the 11th edition of the UNTOLD festival. Over 91,000 passengers passed through the airport, and 755 take-offs etci landcountries were registered in just seven days.
This year’s edition of the festival again brought hundreds of thousands of people to Cluj-Napoca and transformed the city, for four days and four nights, into one of the most important meeting points for music and entertainment fans from around the world.
The extent of this period is also reflected by the data communicated by “Avram Iancu” Cluj International Airport. The week of 3–9 August 2026 became the busiest week in the airport’s historywith 91,393 passengers and 755 take offcountries etci landARI.
A new operational record was set during the UNTOLD ONE weekend itself. In the night of Saturday, August 8, to SundayAugust 9on the Cluj International Airport platform were parked simultaneously 23 aircraftof which 14 aircraft for charter flights and 9 aircraft for scheduled flights.
The records recorded during this period come in the context of an UNTOLD edition that gathered more than 500,000 participants during the four days of the festivalalongside artists, production teams, guests and professionals from the international entertainment industry.
The data provides yet another perspective on the size UNTOLD has today and on the mobility created around Cluj-Napoca during the festival. Year after year, the UNTOLD audience comes from Romania and all over the world, and for thousands of participants, Cluj International Airport is the main gateway to Transylvania.
Beyond the four days of the festival, UNTOLD contributes to strengthening the international visibility of Cluj and Transylvania, bringing together a global audience, world-class artists and some of the most complex entertainment productions in Europe.
UNTOLD took place inbetween 6 and August 9, 2026, in Cluj-Napoca. The four days and four nights brought international artists and large-scale productions to the stage, in front of an audience of over half a million participants.
