A strange appearance illuminated the sky, and the witnesses initially thought it was a UFO. The specialists quickly clarified the situation.
The blue spiral is, in fact, the result of a Spacex photo launch X
On Monday evening, on March 24, a bright blue and white spiral captivated the eyes of the inhabitants of southwestern England, writes Bristol Live.
Several images have surprised the mysterious phenomenon, visible in the north of Bristol.
A witness told Bristolive: “I just saw this spiral floating slowly above Yate, Bristol. He was slow – maybe he got out of control?”
Similar photos were also taken in Gloucestershire, and witnesses from all over the region reported. A resident of Sandhurst, Gloucester, said: “I just saw (UFO)! ”
Another witness described the phenomenon as follows: “At first it seemed like a white point that moved slowly into the sky, but then turned into this spiral. Very strange!”
He added: “I am an astrophotograph and I have never seen such a thing before.”
The Observatory of the University of Hertfordshire clarified the mystery: “The spiral in the sky is the most likely residual fuel of the Spacex Falcon 9. “
During the ascent, the second step of the Falcon 9 rocket eliminates the residual fuel, forming the visible model in the sky.
In turn, Professor Brian Cox explained on X: “For all those who ask about the strange form in the sky earlier – it is associated with this launch.”
He distributed a video from Spacex entitled: “The first step of Falcon 9 landed on LZ-1 in Florida.”
Spacex explained that Falcon 9 is a reusable two -step rocket, designed for safe transport of loads and crews in orbit and beyond.
The launch of the Falcon 9 rocket took place in Florida, shortly before 6:00 pm (local time).
