The former candidate for the presidential elections, Călin Georgescu, declared on Sunday evening, November 2, that it is not possible “involve in any way” in the elections for the Capital City Hall, which take place on December 7, since “we are asked to validate the fraud” from December 6, 2024.

Călin Georgescu published a video on social networks in which he criticized the elections for the Capital, stating that “an illegitimate government cannot make legitimate elections”. He also stated that “in a macabre way, December 7th marks one year since the annulment of the elections”.
“Today, the country is suffering. It is suffering because of the political decay that is occurring in Romania, to which is added the agitation of these so-called Bucharest City Hall elections. About these elections, I have the following to say: an illegitimate government cannot make legitimate elections either in Bucharest or anywhere else, and no one can convince me otherwise.
We have the precedent of canceling the elections of December 6, 2024 and the masquerade of those of May 2025. Therefore, I cannot believe in these elections in Bucharest and I think the electorate should think twice before validating a hoax under the guise of good.
Anyone who would have asked me would have received the same answer. And above all, in a macabre way, on December 7 it is one year since the annulment of the elections that buried democracy and freedom in Romania, and now we are asked to validate the fraud since then.
To me, this is unacceptable, it is a line of dignity that no free man can cross. If those elections had not been annulled, today we would not have needed elections in Bucharest. (…) That’s precisely why I can’t get involved in any way, and not because I refuse, but because I can’t believe in these elections”, he transmitted.
On October 23, the Government approved the decision regarding the organization on December 7 of partial local elections for the general mayor of Bucharest, as well as the elections in other localities.
The application period starts on November 12 and ends on November 17, and appeals can be submitted until November 19, with a decision on November 20.
The electoral campaign for the elections on December 7 is significantly shorter, the duration being only 15 days, compared to the 30 days provided for the local elections organized on time.
Thus, the electoral campaign will start on November 22 and end on December 6, at 7:00 a.m. After this term, electoral propaganda of any kind is prohibited.
