27 roads in western Romania, considered risky during the winter, were closed to car traffic, from Friday November 15, until the end of March 2025.

Hunedoara County Council announced the closure of traffic on 27 sectors of county roads, most of them in the mountainous area of Hunedoara.
“From today, November 15, 2024, a number of county road sectors in the network under the administration of the Hunedoara County Council have been closed. The closure of the sections remains in force until March 31, 2025”informed the Hunedoara County Council.
On these roads, road traffic safety is affected during the cold season. Some are in alpine areas, exposed to frost and blizzards or heavy snowfalls, which prevent road traffic from flowing smoothly.
On other sections, the surface of the road is made of earth, with ditches clogged, roads that cross portions with large slopes in longitudinal profile, as well as high, unstable and unprotected slopes.
