A quiet vacation in a hotel in Thailand turned into a real nightmare for a couple of married tourists: a large black cobra entered their room during the night.
The woman was suddenly awakened by the cold sensation of a body touching her neck. “The snake passed over my neck”she said in a panic, before jumping out of bed and waking her partner.
Initially, the tourist thought she was living a nightmare, but the hissing of the snake confirmed that the danger was real, according to international media.
Hotel staff immediately intervened and contacted wildlife capture. The cobra was removed from under the bed and transported safely to its natural habitat.
Fortunately, none of the tourists were injured, but the experience was extremely traumatic.
According to the Pattaya Mail, it is a black cobra about one and a half meters long, which most likely entered the room through a small opening under the door.
The incident, which happened at the end of March, was captured in footage that went viral on social media.
Authorities and tourism experts urged tourists to keep doors and windows closed, especially in hotels near nature.
Thailand is home to more than 200 species of snakes, of which about 60 are venomous, and hospitals across the country treat between 7,000 and 8,000 snake bites annually.
