The former palace of Irinel Columbeanu, witness to a luxurious life, was consumed by a fire in 2020, and since then it has been abandoned and in disrepair. Recent pictures show blackened walls, broken windows and destroyed furniture.
With a huge area of approximately 10,000 square meters and 15 bedrooms, the villa was considered one of the most luxurious private properties in Romania.
Inside were valuable art objects, luxury furniture and decorations that reflected the extravagant style of the former millionaire. The villa hosted Columbeanu’s wedding to Monica Gabor and numerous sumptuous parties with famous guests.
The fire started in the basement of the residence and quickly spread to the ground floor, first floor and roof, consuming approximately 1,000 square feet.
“The house is no longer mine since 2009. These things have long been judged. The house was not insured, no one can gain anything from this fire, not even me.” the former millionaire declared for Prima TV.
Recent pictures show a devastated home: smoke-blackened walls, destroyed furniture, broken windows and cobwebs covering every corner.
“Stepping into Irinel Columbeanu’s villa, you immediately feel that the luxury is gone. The floor creaks, the windows are covered in dust, and the garden is left to grow chaotically. Every room seems to retain the echo of the parties and opulent life of yesteryear, but everything is now oppressive, as if the house is breathing alone, mourning the loss of the glory that once filled it“, wrote on TikTok, the randonautica user.
