Video MEP Nicu Ștefănuță, harsh message after an Indian saved a little girl: “What are we ready to do when there is danger?”

The Vice-President of the European Parliament Nicu Ștefănuță reacted on social networks after an Indian citizen saved a little girl who fell into the lake in the Nicolae Romanescu Park in Craiova on Saturday, January 17.

MEP Nicu Ștefănuță says in a comment on Facebook that he cannot get out of his mind the voice of those who sit on the sidelines and shout at the advisers, after the incident on Saturday, in Craiova, where a little girl was saved at the last moment from the frozen lake.

“I can’t get out of my mind the voice of those who sit on the edge of the lake in Romanescu Park and shout to the counselors: “Take that rope, take that rope”. In the middle of a lake, an Indian rescues a Romanian girl. A man saves another man”wrote Sunday evening, January 18, Nicu Ștefănuță.

He also said:

“I understand that the girl’s father and other citizens then intervened just as heroically. But the ‘Take that rope’ from the sidelines I can’t get out of my mind. And it fills me with anger for: The over-the-top and continuous talk we have in society today, instead of doing things each how and where we can. For all the extremists of this country, irresponsible political leaders, who push for racial hatred, xenophobia, like that senseless Tănase and all his golden bosses. For all the false values of our national ‘purity’ and other silly lies we are still taught in school”added the EP vice-president.

Finally, the Romanian MEP asks a rhetorical question.

“I know that we all want something from the government, from the town hall, from the parliament, the church, the army. But we ourselves, we, what are we ready to give when there is danger? That that Indian could say thank you: you know I am not from the locality, I also have a child at home in India… and “Take that rope”…”says Ștefănuță.
