The President of the Senate, Nicolae Ciucă, launched his book during the show “Poetry and Delicates” on Prima TV. While cooking side by side with Mircea Dinescu traditional dishes specific to Oltenia, the PNL leader spoke about the volume he wrote, about his military career, but also about his personal life.

“It is the first time in human history that a leading soldier presents the book to a general (…) The first chapter – My life as it was. Biographical stops… it’s amazing, it’s a form of confession, the love and admiration for women from Oltenia. This chapter cannot be written by anyone outside“, declared Mircea Dinescu, at the beginning of the show.
“Living there can only be from living“, replied the president of the Senate.
The leader of the Democratic National Party revealed during the show that he met his wife more than four decades ago.
“In the Army, when you try to impose yourself by force, you don’t succeed… You have to feel the people and they have to feel you. Without this mutual feeling, nothing is done in life”Nicolae Ciucă also stated in the show “Poetry and Delicates”.
“I couldn’t believe it”
The PNL leader also made a confession from his personal life. More precisely, Nicolae Ciucă spoke about the moment when it was announced that his first granddaughter would be called Anastasia Maria, the name of his great-grandmother.
“I also wrote in the book, but I want to tell you. It was absolutely colossal. The great-grandmother, whom I admired, as you noted, was called Anastasia. When the first granddaughter was about to be born, I was talking to my wife – that I didn’t have the courage to tell the children. I said not to interfere, let’s take care of ourselves how to name the child. They came to us one afternoon and said: “We found the girl’s name”. “Which, father?” It was their choice. When he said Anastasia and Maria, I cried, tears came to my eyes. I couldn’t believe that I had never told them in my life“.
He stated that his great-grandmother at “inspired” extremely much.
After the broadcast of the show, Nicolae Ciucă published a message on Facebook inviting internet users to read his book.
““Every man’s life is, in its own way, a story. (…) As for my own story, the one so far, its thread has carried me from the hearth of the village of Plenița and the blooming springs of the Peony Forest to the African savannah, the mountains of Afghanistan, the sand dunes of Iraq or Piața Victoriei in Bucharest. It seems like an unusual story, but you will see that it is not.»
