Created by Hwang Dong-hyuk, Squid Game quickly became a global hit upon its debut in 2021. After 12 years of work, it only took 12 days for it to become Netflix’s most popular series ever released. Capturing worldwide attention, it dominated the Global Top 10 for nine consecutive weeks – a first for any non-English language series – and made history with countless Emmy wins. “Squid Game” quickly became the biggest hit on the Netflix platform, with 111 million views in the first 28 days of its release, setting an impressive record for the streaming service.
In December, you can read in “Weekend Adevărul” an interview exclusively for Romania, given by Lee Jung-Jae (the character of Seong Gi-hun) and Wi Ha-Jun (in the role of Hwang Jun-ho).
Season 2 brings the stakes back to life with Lee Jung-jae returning to the role of the famous Seong Gi-hun, also known as Contender 456. With amazing determination and trauma left over from the previous game, Gi-hun finds himself in -a desperate mission to uncover the deadly truth of the competition. However, his warnings go unheeded and tensions rise as fellow players question his intentions.
The trailer also shows Lee Byung-hun back as the mysterious Man in Front, whose true motives remain a secret, while Hwang Jun-ho, played by actor Wi Ha-jun, carries the story forward as the detective relentlessly on a mission of his own.
