The mother of the young pregnant woman who lost her life in the explosion in Rahova made shocking statements. The woman said that, for two days, there was a strong smell of gas in the block, but they were not warned.

The mother of the pregnant young woman who died following the explosion that occurred on Friday morning in a block of flats in the Rahova district, Bucharest, was overwhelmed by pain and received psychological support from an ISU employee. The 24-year-old woman was found dead under the rubble, and her 17-year-old brother was seriously injured and admitted to the “Grigore Alexandrescu” Hospital.

The woman said that, for the last two days, there was a strong smell of gas in the block, and the tenants were leaving the entrance doors open.

“We’ve been leaving the front doors open for 2 days. At least they could say: ?”, said the woman, according to the observer.

The images show how an ISU employee offered her psychological counseling and hugged her.

The intervention to recover the young woman was extremely difficult, as two cranes were needed to remove the body from under the ruins.

The explosion was so powerful that it was recorded by the seismic stations of the National Earth Physics Research and Development Institute.

The Prosecutor’s Office attached to the Bucharest Court of Appeal took over the investigation in the case of the devastating explosion in Sector 5 of the Capital, produced on Friday morning at a block of flats in Rahova, as a result of which three people died and 13 others were injured.

The file, originally registered at the Prosecutor’s Office attached to the District Court of Bucharest 5, was taken over by the prosecutors from the Court of Appeal for the continuation of investigations in order to establish the causes and the responsibilities.

The investigators carry out investigations in rem under the aspect of committing the crime of culpable destruction, provided by article 255 paragraphs 1 and 2 of the Criminal Code.

“In order to find out the judicial truth and establish the concrete circumstances that led to the explosion, as well as the identification of the persons responsible, specific means of evidence are administered for this type of cases: the on-site investigation, hearings of witnesses, collection of documents, technical expertise and any other means deemed to be conclusive and useful”. it is stated in the public prosecutor’s statement.
