The annulment of the 1st round of the presidential elections, by the Constitutional Court of Romania, is a serious decision that calls into question or brackets the democracy in Romania and accentuates the fault in the society, claims Tudor Chirilă.

The TV star Tudor Chrilă states, in a message that went viral on his Facebook page, that the state institutions did not do their job on time, and the objectivity of the decision taken by the Constitutional Court of Romania is called into question.
“This decision confirms the bankruptcy of some institutions of the Romanian state, their inability to defend national security, their own citizens or an electoral process. The suspicions that a part of the Romanian state played Russia’s games or simply other power games are motivated. But that’s what happens when we as a society also stand aside. When civil society gives up the fight”, shows Tudor Chirilă.
The popular artist on social networks claimed that the Romanians were not concerned about the compromising actions of the journalist Emilia Șercan, in which institutions of the Romanian state would have participated.
“It occurs to me to ask how many people were outraged when the state institutions, namely the Ministry of the Interior, the police, contributed to the attempt to compromise the journalist Emilia Şercan? (A sample that Şercan gave to the Police in order to investigate the theft of the photos and the violation of private life was published online, 40 minutes after he left the Police station, and was later picked up and distributed on dozens of sites- hate). It was serious, but society was not concerned. What does a man matter, right? But it was not about a man, but about a journalist who discovered and reported a plagiarism of a high-ranking dignitary and who, instead of being protected by the institutions in question, became their victim”wrote Tudor Chirilă.
The artist demands answers from the state institutions
According to the actor, the institutions knew, it turned out that they knew about the illegal campaign of a presidential candidate, and the silence, stammering and delay made them accomplices.
“If the involvement of a “state actor” in the electoral process is proven, why wouldn’t we question the electoral process and the financing of the parliamentary elections? Who were the collaborators of the “state actor” in the state institutions? Why must the Romanian state and the electoral process be saved through abuse? One thing is clear, ALL Romanian citizens who pay state institutions have the obligation to receive answers to all questions related to the involvement of ALL actors in the electoral process.
The parties must call these institutions before the people. All parties. And let’s not forget who led the country in these years, who organized these elections, who appointed the heads of the responsible institutions? Ciolacu, Ciucă, Iohannis and the echelons of your seven, are you ok?”shows Tudor Chirilă.
Postponing the answers to these questions will only fuel the population’s convictions that the state was complicit and will fuel the division between the citizens of this country, the star also stated.
“The truth, we want the truth. It’s already too late… PS. Do you at CNA feel at least a little bit responsible for the violence and misinformation with which puppet television has intoxicated the population for so many years?”, he concluded.
