Cătălina Jacob, a 28-year-old young woman originally from Bacău, was appointed the representative of Romania at the prestigious Miss Universe 2025 contest, which will take place on November 21, in Thailand.

Originally from Bacău, but raised in Italy, Cătălina has dual Romanian-Italian citizenship and divides her time between Milan and Bacău. At just 18, he settled in Milan, where he studied psychology and communication, fields that contributed to his professional training in modeling and personal branding.
Cătălina has paraded on the catwalks of Fashion Week in Milan, Paris, New York and Dubai, collaborating with international clothing and jewelry brands. In 2024, she participated in Miss Universe Abruzzo (Top 5), and then she won third place in Miss Universe Italy, a performance that brought her even more visibility on the international stage.
In the national final of Miss Universe Romania 2025, held on October 2 in Bucharest, Cătălina was chosen as the winner among the 29 contestants. Also, Cătălina ranked in the top 5 at Miss Universe Italy 2024, which gives her an important chance for a remarkable performance at the world level, writes Desțeptarea.
In her statements, Cătălina emphasized the importance of inspiring young women in Romania: “I hope to inspire young women in my country to believe in themselves and walk their own path with confidence”. Actively involved in volunteer projects and collaborations with UNICEF-affiliated foundations, Cătălina promotes values of social responsibility and empathy.
Also, the young woman founded her own brand of clothes and hats in Milan, which bears her name.
This year, Miss Universe 2025 will bring together more than 100 contestants from around the world, all vying for the crown currently held by Victoria Kjær Theilvig. The event, organized by the Miss Universe Organization (MUO), promises a spectacular finale, where personality, intelligence and social involvement will count as much as beauty.
