FCSB, the champion of Romania, made a show of strength in the first preliminary round of the Champions League, meeting an extremely modest team, Virtus AC, the winner of the title in San Marino.

In the first leg hosted by Virtus AC, FCSB prevailed with a stunning 7-1! The Romanians’ goals were scored by Olaru (6-penalty, 11, 37), Daniel Popa (22, 27) and David Miculescu (70, 73). For the champion from San Marino, Battistini scored in the 86th minute, establishing the final score.
FCSB – Virtus AC return leg will be played on July 16, from 8:30 p.m., at the Steaua Stadium. After this formality, in the second preliminary round of the Champions League, FCSB will meet Maccabi Tel Aviv (Israel). The first leg will be played in Bucharest on July 23/24. The return leg will be hosted by Budapest, on July 31.
