Meteorologists announce atmospheric instability in several regions until Sunday morning. Four counties will be under Orange Code for storms.

More precisely, for the interval July 20, 1 pm – July 21, 10 am, a warning was issued Code yellowwith temporarily heightened atmospheric instability forecast.
“Gradually, in Banat, southern Crișana, Oltenia, Transylvania and locally in Maramureș and Muntenia there will be periods of atmospheric instability. This will be manifested by torrential showers, wind intensifications and, in limited areas, gales (gusts of 50…70 km/h), hail and electrical discharges. In short periods of time or through accumulation, the amounts of water will be 20…25 l/sq m and isolated over 40 l/sq m”, announce the meteorologists.
At the same time, for the interval July 20, 3 p.m. – July 21, 03 a.m., a Orange Code of instability. “Regarded phenomena: temporarily increased atmospheric instability, significant amounts of water”, say the ANM specialists.
Concretely, in the south of Banat, the north-west of Oltenia and in the south-west of Transylvania (Caraș-Severin, Hunedoara, Gorj, Mehedinți) there will be periods of torrential downpours, intensification of the wind and in limited areas gales (gusts of 70…90 km /h), hail and electrical discharges. In short time intervals (1…3 hours) or through accumulation, the water quantities will be 25…40 l/sq m and in small areas over 50…70 l/sq m.
Heat codes, still in effect
A warning is also in effect on Saturday Code yellow for Oltenia, Muntenia and continental Dobrogea, where the heat wave will persist, thermal discomfort will be high, and the temperature-humidity index (ITU) will slightly exceed the critical threshold of 80 units.
The maximum temperatures will be 34…37 degrees, and the minimums will not drop below 20 degrees, so they will characterize a tropical night.
Also on Saturday, several counties will be under warning Orange Code of heatwave.
“The heat wave will persist in Dolj, Olt and Teleorman counties. It will be hot, and the maximum temperatures will generally be 37…38 degrees. Thermal discomfort will be accentuated, and the temperature-humidity index (ITU) will exceed the critical threshold of 80 units. The thermal minimums will not drop below 22 degrees, so they will characterize a tropical night”, states ANM.
